Breaking out and in..

The winter is clinging to the ground

The piles of snow are melting

But they visibly take up space

I am ready and need the ground around

To wake up and take over

Now it really retreats

We have slept away in our homes

Day has been covered

In silencing snow

The sun is heating up

The days just got longer

Hope arises in the folk of the north

We are troupers

Soldiers of the arctic storms

Weathered by environment

We find a way

We find the path

The key is positivity

Must not go down with the negativity

Life can get hard for sure, but

We are not victims here

By choice we live here

We await spring

In all its glory

Which shall renew us in its light

The colors of which will inspire us

First the crocus

Then the daffodils

Ever year we celebrate and applaud

The glorious colors of spring

Up here in the north

We wait longer

But we appreciate every sprig that sprouts

For the light of the sun to shine down

And it is starting

And our eager, starving souls

We throw our arms open wide

Our faces lifted to the sun

We receive the suns gaze with joy

Springtime is right around the corner

The lessons of the winter are in us

The death it brings

The darkness

It will be overwhelmed in short order

By a higher power

The power of spring

And we should not forget what we learned

While things and people retreated or died

The very essence of being inhabited

In our souls

Don’t overthink it

Just bow your hearts

And find gratitude

For those who bring us joy

Or hope and peace in trying times

Winter has done its work

Now on to regeneration

Set yourself up for success

Your seasons are unique to you

May they teach and inspire you and me

Carpe diem!
