Release Yourself!

In the depth of the soul

The spirt struggles for release

To be able to consume the present moment

To dwell in the now

Always and with earnest

But instead the breakthroughs are brief

Stifled by sudden shocks

Of loss, and misunderstandings

All types of roadblocks

It takes work to overcome

To dare to dream again

To strive for enlightenment

Cultivating like a farmer

The mind and heart must plant the seeds

To cultivate the soil

Dealing with the elements

Of storms that rage

Droughts that starve

The once fertile soul

But we’ve been here before

It is part of the human experience

To struggle to be free

The hierarchy of needs is real

Without the basic needs met

We cannot break free

Then there is the need for community

And in these days so many are at odds

With those they took for granted

Would always be there

The truth is far more chilling

And yet oddly empowering

Once the illusion is shattered

To be in a place of peace

Is possible when basics are covered

To release yourself to be yourself

Now that is a gift, not all find it

When your confidence comes

Grab ahold of the steering wheel

It’s time to go for a ride

Why should you not GO FOR IT!!

Reframe the opinions of others

Curious what people say and do

Says more about them then you

You don’t need to wait

Right now, this is a good time

To try a new approach

To break free

Loose yourself of all that does not serve you

Now, this version of you

This is the one that counts

Reach for the stars in the sky

Let the power of the wind

Help guide you

Time to soar

A warning to the inauthentic

If you insist on hiding behind a mask

Then you are far from free

How deep have you gone

Into the darkness which will kill

Your very soul and purpose

You and only you can change it

Consider others before yourself

Try to view yourself through others’ eyes

Break down the crusty walls

You have built a prison

You are locked inside

Drop the pretense

If you really want it all

Then lose it all

All the lying to yourself

All the judgement and negativity

Stop believing your own propaganda

Demolish all that you have built

For fulfillment comes from humility

Not false fronts

Freedom comes from the ashes of your

Broken ego

It comes from connecting

To love which is the true power

Now, do the work

Don’t ever give up

Lock arms with your guides

And let us all run to the bridge

We must pass over

For what awaits those who pursue and persist

Is overflowing with abundance

When the heart is full

It overflows and waters many souls

I am a pilgrim

We all are

Come, let us reason together

Let us find the pathway to greatness

Don’t wait for others to catch up

Just do it!
